Chanel S/S 2026 Paris

It was so easily spotted in the video! That zipper looks like it was sewn by Rosalia in her hotel room before the event!

Outrageous to see that´s Chanel...!

You are asking too much, my dear jeanclaude.

Correct alignment and invisible zippers at Chanel belong to Haute Couture.

For RTW and Métiers d'Art you are invited to sew it yourself in your hotel room.

A needle and thread are provided with the dress, so that you can experience "the other side of craftmanship".

The collection is available for online viewing and they did these shoes (and Sam Labaan) so dirty:

modernity!!!!!!! what women desire duck feet IYKYK

Omg, the prices are CRAZY?!!! The shirt being more than 4k dollars is diabolical, anyone who buys it is a fool!
Prices in dollars are always crazy but overall the price point is similar to what it was around 2018/2019.
They lowered the prices on RTW and bags.

I was dubitative when my S.A. told me that I would be tempted to buy things when I said to her that given Virginie’s prices I expected everything to be +10K.

This is the « cheapest » Chanel has been in years!

This collection is going to be a hit!

Was it more expensive during Virginie? The Tweed jackets are still quite high 😭

Yes. The most I ever spend on a jacket at Chanel on a single item was 6500€ for a tweed jacket from the Ritz collection.
Whenever there was a leather piece, it was above 10K already during Karl.
However they always kept cotton tweed jackets below 8/7K.

Yes the prices went high during Virginie. Her clothes were accessible in style and they obviously cut corners on quality and as she sold anyway they were greedy.

There are a lot of things below 10K, quite a few below 3K. Even the big leather bags are 8K which is the price of a Delvaux bag I eyed.

They were just greedy during Virginie’s era.

I don’t mind the price of the shirts after all because clearly they are trying to make it the pieces of the show and will try to push it for men too.

I mean the suit I wanted cost less than a classic bag.

Yes the pieces with the feathers and all are of course super expensive but for Chanel, this is good.

I hope they will get it together for the shoes. I liked the printed classic slingback and the flats with deep tones but as a whole, those are just shoes made to be worn under pants that have to cover them!

it doesn't look that way judging from the purse blog...
4k for a white cotton shirt - not silk - IS crazy.
And you can have MtM shirts at Charvet for way less.

In 2018 there was ribboned tweed. The shirts were silk. The knits special. Now we have cotton shirts priced at thick silk shirt prices and knits you can find at Uniqlo. They can't compare.

Saw this from the purse blog. this was a sales lady talking about the latest styles to clients. The shirt is from a previous season I think. Look at this cotton...yea it's cheap.
(edit: I cut the top off because the poor lady has nothing to do with the quality here.) This pic was taken by a client.

Tbh the term « worth it » when it comes to luxury is never that worthy actually.

Don’t need to go to Charvet. There are shirtmakers who makes shirts for cheaper.

For me Chanel has always been about tweed and knitwear. I loved Karl’s dresses but they outpriced me around 2011 anyway. Buying tweed dresses was the better compromise.

People will buy those shirts because they are iconic pieces from the runway and are easily recognizable…Not because they are « worth it ». I think the 100% silk knitwear twin-sets are more interesting.

But the collection as a whole offer I think from a pricing POV, more options than everybody expected.

8k EURO for non Chanel chain non quilted, machine made flap bag is a steal compare to a Kelly or Birkin 25 Price 2026 €9,600 (Europe) that is fully handmade lol

these metal inserted leather ones compete with the price of bigger birkins and kelly´s ----(Pristine Birkin 25 and Birkin 30 models continue to trade around $28,000 to $30,000 on Sotheby’s marketplace, reflecting a secondary market premium of 2.4x retail pricing.)
not sure these crumple Chanel´s will be worth double their price after retail lol
Birkin 30 Price 2026 €10,600 (Europe)
Birkin 35 Price 2026 €11,600 (Europe)

^^
Again those are micro examples…Over a more significative trend.
And yes a maxi flap at Chanel at this price is confirming that trend.
‘Trends that started with the 25 actually because as they increased their prices on classics that seasonal bag was cheaper and is now a new classic.

Am I wrong in thinking that the fissure between runway and production/retail has widened here? All but the most basic pieces are Price on Request, if they're available at all.

Chanel produces like 98% of their runway collections. The info regarding prices is only indicative anyway and the full collection is only available in stores.
However the collection gets delivered in drops so the full offering won’t be in display now except for VIC but as there’s the show this week I think there will be a good selection so far at Rue Cambon already as they are having little events always before the show.
