Cheap Chic - Bargain Hunting

Love the Payless espadrilles Softgrey.

My favourite place for cheap chic is Ebay vintage clothing. Here's a couple of offerings from the US site.

I had to get it in black, not navy ones left  oh well, still love the jacket. Apparently, the thing to do is to get there when it opens.
I had to fight my way through thousands of kids playing and screaming to get that jacket, then got so tired of queing that I went in the mens

i went in today to could have cryed at all the mess and the amounts of people in there! i nearly had a brake down:unsure:

i got the jacket in black too do you find it a little short?
i also got a black wrap over dress £6 looks lovely over jeans

but i dont think i will be going back in a hurry that shopping experience scared me:blink:

but i dont mind getting a bargin:flower:

Sorry to hijack, but have you had a bad experience softgrey? :o

I buy from ebay a lot, mainly vintage pieces...and so far I've only had good experiences (a couple of close calls but all turned out OK). Maybe I've been lucky.

(BTW, the Kmart skirt on the right)

ahh primark, the students mecca. personally the crowds and the way it looks like a jumble sale gives me a rash (esp the newcastle one cowboyboots!), BUT when im feeling brave i can find some real bargins in there. excluding the vogue jacket i have found:

- a great knee length kaftan with cute beading and silver thread (only £10 and great for holidays) they do it in green and brown.
- fake ugg slippers, they are the comfiest things i have ever bought (and only £6!)
- plain black cardigans £6
- cheap jeans that you can easily customise yourself (£12)
- sunglasses for £2!!

imo, given time, is bargain city. but i never go near the changing rooms...unless you want to wait all day. just buy it, try it at home (seriously its that cheap)

Living in the middle of nowhere, I buy off ebay, vintage and last season designer stuff as well. I may not cut it in the big city, but living in Deliverance-on-Sea means that most of the women here think that turquoise leggins and men's baggy jumpers are the height of chic and make their 18 stone pasty fed frames look good. I therefore always look fab, even if it's a 7 yo Gaultier outfit :D

One of the advantages of the rural idyll I guess :)

its surposed to be cropped !!! :flower:

sequined hand bag for £2

is it beige and a shopper bag because i bought aload of these from there and ironed on designs and customised them for school, gym etc.

yeah i know. it i got it so it was a fitted size but for some reason maybe because i have a long torso it still feels a tad on the short side. like it was made for a shorter body that probs makes no sense!

i still love it  now i just need to wear it out!:flower:

ooh softie i used to be so terrified of ebay as well, esp with clothing... esp with the sizing, misrepresentations, bad sellers, etc etc. the list goes on but i got a few vintage dresses off ebay recently and they turned out just fine and fit perfectly! i guess you never really know with ppl but it helps if they're consistent and have substantial positive feedback... i just keep in contact with them via email in the days leading up to the auctions close to have any concerns i have addressed and the communication also helps in the event that a dispute needs to happen as there would be some documentation in my favor
