Chicago shopping

New vintage store Kokorokoko celebrates the '80s, '90s and even the '00s

woah thanks for posting this, i'll have to stop in... i live literally right across ashland. very odd, i hadn't heard about this yet. :flower:

^How is the store? I haven't seen many photos of the interior. It's double the size of the old store isn't it?

I know it's not in the city....but did anyone check out the new Last Call NM in Gurnee?

The new Barneys is so much fun all of you should go I would love to work there it is so nice

I went there on Sunday. They carry good designers but I didn't really like the clothes they had. And they were put on the racks in a sloppy way. Plus everything seem to be either L or XL. The shoes on the other hand were gorgeousssss. The Stella McCartney wooden wedges were listed around $595 off of $1095 so thats how much the discount typically was.

They do have a good selection but, possibly because there was hardly anyone else there, it did strike me as a little sterile. Not that I'm complaining...I did pretty well in the sale ^_^

^ yeah it is but I like it I hate shopping in unorganized crowded places

on thursday im going to chicago and i will be staying at the drake hotel, are there any good shops around that area?? thanks in advance :flower:

^ Well...Chanel's actually in The Drake...Louis Vuitton's across the street...Oak Street runs off one corner of it (Barneys is a block or two down Oak)...H&M is a block or south on Michigan Avenue (as are a host of other stores)...

Oh, and the Coq d'Or bar at the Drake has the best martinis...^_^

^I had no idea Chanel was in The Drake! thanks a lot for the info, i'm looking foward to my trip! =)

why is the zara all the way out in skokie?

The Drake is right at the beginning of the Mag Mile, so you're in a prime location! :] Just walk south, and everything's right there.

Last I saw, it said "coming soon". Hopefully it will be sooner than spring!

Chicago shoppers beware: Jake on Rush Street isn't as utterly charming as we once thought it to be. The NYTimes posted an article yesterday about its initial success and good repore with emerging designers...but in the wake of the economy, is in bad financial trouble and in turn, is testing the trust and relationships it has built over time. If you read the article, I think you'll agree how pathetic these owners have behaved in light of hardship.

I used to think this boutique was such a great place...but now I'm going to think twice about shopping here given how it does business with its labels.
