Ok...this is a bit of a shameless plug because she is my cousin but I thought I'd garner some TFS attention for this designer. She used to design for Shanghai Tang but she started her own collection two years ago.

She's stocked at Selfridges in London and other boutiques.

She takes oriental influences to give a contemporary look. Her clothes are super girly and I can testify to the superior quality (seeing as she gave me a whole load of freebies :D).

Here's her A/W 05 collection:

Her bags were also featured in season 5 of Sex and City (sorry about the blurry pics):

i love the black double breasted jacket and the white shirt:heart:

your lucky to have a cousin who designs great clothes!

thanks for the pictures posted sisiwong, beautiful heritage.. my fave is the deep red dress at post 4

btw, i can see how easy it is for Alexander McQueen (amongst others) to get inspired by your cultural tradition

the chinese folk era i'm interested in is late qing all the way to 80s under communist rule. i like the padded chinese peasant jacket look and how the children dress with many colourful layers. also the tribal minorities in china and their crafts/costumes. any pics?

Mine is actually the decadent 20's-30's Shanghai look. The balance of east and west was so beautiful.

Post 4, pic 2 - the hair. :woot: Or maybe it's a wig. Well, whatever it is...
