Chloé Resort 2023 Paris

What´s this??? Amateur erotica for online fappers??

it’s not her worse that’s for sure but why does it remind me of Stella?
regardless, there are some good pieces and this is so for the best (minus some bits) I’ve seen from her.

Resort collections are coming strong!

It’s less hideous than some other collections of hers…but desirable it isn’t. The lookbook makes the whole thing look sooo dreary.

The thing about Chloé is that, for all the time that we've known its Stella---> Natacha Ramsay-Levi era ie over 20 years, it had this very youthful, feminine quality. Under GH, that quality seems to have just fled and aged 20 years, and I'm not the only one to make this observation.

This collection has a little of that lightness that I saw as quintissentially Chloé but it feels like it's still struggling under the GH urge to make things look as homespun and earth-mothery as possible, like the 'punish yourself for your sins against the earth' hair shirt side of boho fashion (not the fun 'Sienna Miller in floaty dresses c. 2003-04' side).

She has no idea how to use light and ethereal fabrics & flowy and flirty silhouettes, which makes her collection always belong to NYFW at its best. To make it worse, I am really tired of identity politics in fashion if you cannot make the clothes speaks for themselves.

exactly why I was so surprised when she was chosen for this label. And it's not so much identity politics, as ideology - the magic "sustainability" word was probably supposed to be a substitute for actually understanding the essence of the brand and what made it relevant.

I'm curious about how Hearst's apparel actually sells, though her direction for the brand may also be a matter of brand positioning (appealing to an older consumer with more money - but even Phoebe's Céline and The Row do that better while not feeling so....dull).

This probably sells kinda okay? It’s very commercial in its shapes and even its styling. It feels kinda contemporary LA / California. I don’t think her work or her collections are particularly note worthy, but if Chloe is for a younger audience, then I think this kind of works.
Bags are weak by the way. They should be better at Chloe.

Its looks like a B grade NYC collection , where is the flour and where is the Chloe in this ??? They are going to run this brand to the ground at the rate they are going like what happened with Sonia Rykiel.
