Christian Dior Haute Couture F/W 2021.22 Paris

Dull and insipid clothes as usual with one of the most prestigious labels but that's her signature. Still, I am waiting for Virginie's collection as long as there is no competition between these mediocre duo sisters!

I have never been this bored.

all sorts of bad.
the Chanel a la MCG looks are such a try hard attempt that it made me sick considering how bad Chanel is being of late.

the rest is just the same old cr*p that she’s been doing lately.
bad bad bad.

Knitwear for couture should be interesting as a premise. But her refusal to evolve--well maybe she can't do so anyway--her silhouettes makes this just another parade of insipidity. Everything just looks so templatized, like a rigid powerpoint deck.

Some of these have great movement and some of these have great details, but overall it's boring. I haven't liked a look for a long time.

At this point it’s pure merchandise. She’s reworking her classics with new colors etc. It ain’t fashion.

What I don't understand is.... How? How is Dior doing so well, incredibly profitable, when it produces work like this?

Who is buying it?

Who is inspired by this?

The majority of people who buys fashion from the big brands just want a beautiful piece or to look good or in the worst cases, to look expensive.

Her work is incredibly boring for us, but for a lot of women, there’s something comforting about buying something « safe ».

And to be honest, what she does is not ugly. Is beautiful, well made, decent, wearable and democratic.

And, compared to Vuitton and Chanel, Dior is not that expensive/exclusive.

It’s like Gucci by Frida, it wasn’t inspiring or exciting (even if nowadays we can reevaluate it), but it sold well because it was so approachable!
