No he claims to have done it on a lark after seeing his assistant painting her nails red. He used her nailpolish for the first pair.

Yes, the last ones are fake.[/quote]

Lareenthemean and mistress_f, how can you recognise they are fakes? And how can i be sure a pair is real (for example on ebay)?
Thanks

The Rolando is higher than the VP. There is a platform in the front. Honestly, I don't find them that comfortable.

Sorry I had no idea^^ I'm such a n00b

Sometimes you can just tell by the price..like if they are stated as new and the price looks too good to be true.. it usually is..

loonaka - you can tell by the cut if the shoe. The toe box/platform area of those Rolandos are a dead giveaway to me.

rd - Great Deczeps - love that pop of color!

Correct; when I saw his exhibit at F.I.T. last spring, he said he was creating the shoe but saw something missing from the design. His assistant was painting her nails with a red Chanel color, so he took it and put it on the shoe.
Gotta love him.

^^Yup, iLoveCouture is right. People tend to freak out about the stamps on the inner and outer sole, but it's really about the overall shape. Stamps can vary quite a bit on authentic CLs. I have a few of the styles that are highly faked, which helped me to be familiar with the lines.

The nude VPs are here!

Hi Bella,
Good to see you here, and thanks-I really love the shade of orange-its not too bright, more harvesty than Halloween.

I haven't studied CL's that much :innocent: I mean I'm not buying fakes anyway :lol:But I guess you should know your shoe!!!

mhh i dont know, i guess beign familiar with the original designs you can tell if a shoe is fake. i mean in this case, the platform from the side is totally off, too chunky i guess, and the heel aswell is thicker than the actual one. it's more abou the shapes and lines of the shoes - take the pigalles, for example, the fake ones i've seen had really awkward toeboxes..

Sigh..i'd love a pair of CL...those and a chanel 2.55 will be the first things i buy with my first proper pay cheque....if i ever get out of college!!!

can someone help me locate a pair of ernestas in black patent, 5 inch heel? i know they are past season...when i called the madison ave boutique, the lady was decidedly unhelpful. :(

Laureen - I have always loved that color in the NP! Great buy - congrats! Your photomarking made me laugh too! :)
