He definitely was a pioneer that never got enough true credit except for some set collections and series of seasons where he was on everyone's lips, and back when the masses cared a bit more about LFW.idk, CK's weirdness was in many ways his strength as a designer. Like being the actual first designer to give Crocs the high-fashion treatment in 2016, a year ahead of Balenciaga (which gets the most hype for it). He had an instinct for being ahead of the pack on a lot of trends, he just doesn't get the credit for it.
But here, the weirdness is off. Strange to say, but usually his approach to weirdness is with full conviction. In the last couple of years there's only been glimmers of conviction that have been marred by what were really confused collections. I'd say the last confident collection he really had was Spring 2019, after that it was a series of reduxes, excess gimmicks and uncertainty.
