Not really. Very few models are known in America, these days. Mostly just the Victoria's Secret Angels like Heidi and Gisele. Hey, I live in the fifth biggest city in the US and a lot of people here don't even know who Kate Moss is .

i have a question that is a little off topic- i was watching the victorias secret fashion show yesterday w/ my sister and mom (don't laugh! ) anyway, they think i am like obsessed w/ models or something which i am so not!! my mom thinks it is unhealthy to be interested in them or something ! lol and then she always ends up making me feel guilty or stupid for being interesting in models. its so annoying!!!! what do i do? does anyone you know think it is weird that you like models?

That's too bad that your mother thinks it's weird. My father thinks it's weird too, I put pictures of models all over my wall and he asked if I was gay.

Fortunately my mother is in fashion and she was the one who got me interested in models/fashion ever since I was very young. She definitely understands and we always discuss beautiful women together.

There is nothing weird about it at all..... the world of modelling is fascinating to many girls! Beautiful people and things are pleasurable and fun and exciting to look at!

I tend to get obsessed with celebrities. One day it's Angelina Jolie and the next it's Kate Bosworth. Now it's models. I don't know why I'm like this. My family doesn't really understand, but they're weird in their own ways.

just to clarify, i was kidding bout the "morom" thing. i didnt think you guys would take it so seriously, kinds of humor change from country to country, and even from person to person. of course i dont think that people who dont like freckles are moroms really. duh.

My whole family, except my younger sister(I got her liking the modeling world aswell) pretty much think I'm a lesbian for being so into fashion and female models, but truth be told it's no different from obsessing with actresses and actors. I enjoy what they do and became a fan. Nex time they give you crap over it just tell them it's no different from obsessing over someone who acts. That should shut them up.

ETA- Oh and one more thing, I was watching the VS show last night! It was so awesome!

We happen to be obsessed with beauty, modelling, fashion. There are so many other people just like us out there - just look at this forum!

I just found out that one of my closest friends was a closet/secret modelling fan like I was!!! But she kept it secret until now! We have no need to be embarrassed!
