I don't know how to define her. Felt artist, maybe?
Her work is just the cutest thing!

the url to the first images don't link to image files (like .jpg)

fantastic

i love stuff like this and i don't think we see it nearly enough ^_^

thanks for the thread :woot:

A little info on how she is making her works.. ^_^

You know how you throw a wool sweater in the washer and it comes out all matted? Well that is felt... but that is wet felting
Her work is done with dry felting
It's done using many, many needles with sharp barbs at its sides :ninja: You stab the wool/hair over and over till it gets matted down. Several of my classmates have ripped their skin with this.. dangerous..

And it takes a very long time for it to finally matt down ; so I'm guessing a lot of these more pictorial works of hers are quite miniature in size..
It would be insane to make a jacket with this technique unless you had a machine :meow: but you can do a lot of lovely effects, decorating other fabrics with other materials/yarns/etc ...I think I saw this in Chloe fall 06, in a white-on-white gown that was sheer in parts

very interesting...
thanks for enlightening us gius!

definitely looks like a very painstaking, detail-oriented process..

the border for instance in the square in post #7 i think is amazing
that piece actually looks tim burton-esque to me..
in the best possible way ^_^
