Coco Rocha's benefit for Children's Aid Society
Tuesday, July 24, 2007
(NEW YORK) Budding supermodel and recent Vogue covergirl Coco Rocha is using her Irish dancing skills for a good cause—one which doesn’t involve the Jean Paul Gaultier runway. With the help of her agency Elite, the 18-year old Highland dancing expert has teamed up with the Children’s Aid Society to coordinate a dance group event benefiting underprivileged kids at one of the organization’s centers throughout New York City. Her Canadian dance group, the Eire Born Irish Dancers, who have performed for the Queen of England, will fly down to the Big Apple for the event. Fittingly, the Richmond, British Columbia native was discovered at an Irish dance competition at the age of 14. According to Rocha, the shows are tentatively scheduled for October 19 and 20 and will also include a Friday afternoon performance and a Saturday workshop for the children. Rocha’s adult fans, however, will have to wait until her next catwalk prance to see her moves, as the shows are exclusively for the kids.
