The reason for Coco hiding her red hair is because American Vogue somehow had an exclusive on her hair. Coco explains it herself in her new blog.

So its out, I am now a red head. You may all have wondered why it was under raps for such a long time. Well its because American Vogue had exclusive rights to my new doo. Meaning my hair could only be seen after January's issue had come out. So go check it out and see it for yourself!!!!
