modeliniaCool in Khaki
Khaki has never been so cool.
Gap teamed up with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists for the third Gap Design Editions, and this year it’s all about the khaki look. Alexander Wang, Albertus Swanepoel, and Vena Cava’s Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai each took the preppy staple and put their own twists on it. “I felt that after two years of doing white shirts, it was time to stay current and stay cool but also stay Gap and keep surprising the customer,” said Patrick Robinson, Gap’s executive vice president of design. “It’s pretty utilitarian,” he says. “But when you give it to such talent…it’s such a blank canvas.” The designers each created four looks, selling in the range of $39.50 to $88.
And now the looks are out, along with the chosen models for the campaign: Raquel Zimmermann, Anna Jagodzinska, Arlenis Sosa, and Coco Rocha were shot by Craig McDean, posing alone and with the designers in their creations. If anyone could promote the beige look, it’s these girls.

modeliniaIsaac and His Golden Girl
Casting Director Jennifer Venditti recently sat down with Elite to discuss her experience in the industry, as well as her current work and aspirations for the rest of her career.
She also talked a bit about her new project with Isaac Mizrahi, which we’re thrilled about and can’t wait to see the final product. The designer’s idea behind the Liz Claiborne campaign was to portray a range of women in all demographics. One of the models chosen is Coco Rocha. “Isaac knows what he stands for and he voices that out…. He’s like this branded image,” said Jennifer. “And I see Coco as that in terms of the modeling world. She knows what she stands for…she wants to be portrayed in a certain image…. She’s smart and she is animated, and she’s physical in terms of her movements. I feel like she is a complete woman that represents what Isaac is about and what this brand is about. And it’s great to have girls in the industry that believe in something.”
