Wow, she has a beauty contract with Rimmel? That's awesome, so happy for her!

On regards to her bf I have noticed that alot of beautiful women usually go for not so good looking men. :)

A day in the life of by Elisabeth Braw
Supermodel Rocha claims she's just a normal working girl
Coco Rocha is the woman every girls dreams of becoming.
She's one of the world's top-earning supermodels. She modeled for fashion houses like Marc Jacobs, Versace, Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Dolce and Gabbana. She's been cover girl for Harper's Bazaar and W.
Did we mention she's only 21? Rocha, born Mikhaila Rocha in Vancouver, was discovered by a talent scout at age 14. She's the co-producer, with fashion website Modelinia.com, of She's a Genius, a new music video celebrating fashion that's set the JET's song with the same name from their just released album Shaka Rock.

Q: She's A Genius shows a day in your life. What's a day in your life really like?
A: I leave for work, take pictures, and go back home. It's not that glamorous. Sometimes I go to movies or go out for dinner. It's the life of a normal working girl.

Q: What does it take to become a supermodel?
A: You just have to be yourself. A lot of girls can't say no, but the most successful models are the ones who stick to their values. Many up-and-coming photographers put a lot of pressure on models, but more experienced photographers don't.

Q: Backstage photos usually show models smoking. How do you pass the time backstage?
A: I read books. I'm an old romantiv type; I read books like (Jane Austen's) Sense and Sensibility. Right now I'm reading The History of Love.

Q: What is models' unhealthiest habit?
A: I don't like to comment on other people's habits. But smoking doesn't make you any more successful in this business. Neither does not eating.

Q: How do you stay in shape?
A: I eat a lot of fruits and salads. I have a dancer's body, which is more muscular, I have to be especially careful with what I eat before shows. Muscles don't look good on photos. You just look fat.

Q: Advice to young girls?
A: If you don't life it, don't do it. Stick to your moral values. People will respect you, and you will respect yourself. Don't look at magazine covers and say "I want to look like her."... People don't realize how much editing goes into fashion photos.

Thanks for the interview! I love how she stays true to her personal values

That's just the reason I love Coco. She started out level-headed and she stuck to her values. She's not one of those who were corrupted by the skinny-craze of designers or the half-p*rn of some photographers and see what powerhouse she has become. She is unique and the fashion industry would be a nicer place if more people had an attitude like hers.

Runway Songs
Hello again! I'm still here in BC. This picture was taken at Okanagan Lake. Isn't it pretty?! Everything is going well - I'm dressed as a lumber jack, getting lots of sleep and fully enjoying doing a whole lot of nothing!!

So lately I've been listening to Major Lazer's song "Pon De Floor" (Edited Version) on heavy repeat after I walked to it last month at Paul Smith. Even before I started modeling, good runway songs always stuck out in my mind. I remember years ago watching the Victoria's Secret show on TV and thinking how cool it would be if I could strut down the runway to "I Like The Way You Move" by Bodyrockers or that remix of Nancy Sinatra's "Bang Bang" like Gisele and Adriana.

Its been four years since I started walking runways myself and I find there's lot's of songs I'm fond of because they're linked in my memory to this show or that one. I remember walking for Louis Vuitton at FW 06 - it was my first time opening and closing a show and I can still recall the beats of "The Glamorous Life" by Sheila E. bouncing off the walls. On another occasion I remember laughing as I passed Behati on the runway because the song playing was "Big Girl (You are beautiful)" by Mika and I still get the whistle part of the "Twisted Nerve" remix stuck in my head, years after I walked to it at Versace.

Its funny that sometimes I'll hear a song and just know it would be a good song to walk to. I'm not sure if its been used yet but "Let Me Think About it" by Freddie Le Grand would be great on the runway - so would "U Got The Look" By Prince. Its not necessarily the style of the song that makes a great runway theme but, for me, I prefer hard beats, on the faster side, that put me into a character I can play.

In other news, here's me falling off a mountain!?:

I also love that Bang Bang remix! I was listening to it this week actually!

Awhs, great post. I love how she recalls the songs to her past shows because I do too
