Coco Rocha will host MTV 's Red Carpet Report for the VMA's on September 12th!

Coco Rocha’s already vetted her on-screen talents as ET Canada’s host at the Grammy Awards and E! News Canada’s roving reporter during Fashion Week, but now she’s moving into the musical world.

The brilliantly talented model is set to work the red carpet at the 2010 Video Music Awards as MTV.com’s model host! ”Only the VMAs could drag me away from New York Fashion Week for one spectacular night in L.A.,” she said. “I can’t wait to interview music’s biggest stars about what they’re wearing on the red carpet.” While preview years have seen hosts such as Christian Siriano, Coco’s serving as the very first model host!

Though designers and editors at Fashion Week will have to deal with the loss of Coco’s presence in New York, LA and the world will be able to enjoy her interviews on the red carpet, which will air on Style.MTV.com and MTV.com on Sunday, September 12 beginning at 8/7c!

I would hardly call it a free pass. She has been doing reporting for a while now. She has been working hard at it - it has not been handed to her.

her fashion career isn't going to last forever. I don't know why people seem so disappointed when models try to branch out. they're just doing what anyone else in their position would do.

i'm not disappointed... i just guess i feel it is undeserved. it's kind of like kate gosselin, who used her kids to get famous, now she's an author, reality tv star, and who knows what else. i feel that rather than branching out into everything and being money hungry, coco should maybe stick to fashion and try her best

i know she worked really hard to get where she is, and is very talented, i just hate the idea of doing EVERYTHING. i know a fashion career doesn't last long, but if you try to get in everywhere, you're bound to get overexposed fairly quickly as well

IA also, she's very charismatic and kind of a natural on camera, so it's not as if they're sending a blank-eyed cindy crawford on like when she tried acting or something...

Well, her looks are striking but her personality was the first thing that made me notice her- she is so sweet all the time, as far as I can see, and would be an asset to any kind of public relations or media operation! (BTW- This is why I hate it when you see models that are rude to their fans and all- just imagine how quickly it can all go away, and often does...)
