Coco Rocha

OMG I miss old Coco :(
I love her right now but she was so beautiful. Kind of angelic, now her face looks strange. She looks really unatural

agreed. i remember around the time she burst onto the scene, she was my favourite model, and seemed so charming. she really was filled with a lot of spunk and natural beauty..
now she seems quite a bit more artificial, like she's always performing or just putting a smile on for publicity or something?:(

^I don't think that she looks artificial but I would love to see her look more natural and effortless like she did in the past. She's still amazing though. And I love to see her smile. :)

^ With regards to the new Elle Brazil cover, Coco posted this on facebook:

"As a high fashion model I have long had a policy of no nudity or partial nudity in my photo shoots. For my recent Elle Brazil cover shoot I wore a body suit under a sheer dress which I now find was photoshopped out to give the impression of me showing much more skin than I was, or am comfortable with. This was specifically against my expressed verbal and written direction to the entire team that they not do so. I'm extremely disappointed that my wishes and contract was ignored. I strongly believe very model has a right to set rules for how she is portrayed and for me these rules were clearly circumvented.

Below is a backstage pic I got from post #307. It's not the best angle, but you can definitely see the bodysuit she was wearing and that it was obviously doctored out of the cover. While I don't think the final picture is risque or really showy for a fashion mag cover, I do applaud coco for standing up for her principles when many models might be very hesitant to speak up. What do you guys think?

^It´s great that she speaks her mind and have contractual rules about it but honestly I wouldn´t give the cleveage another glance if she hadn´t mentioned it... it´s so blurry that I think seeing she´s wearing a nude suit wouldn´t have made a difference.

^Yeah, I don't see how the cleavage is an issue either but that's not what matters. What matters is that Coco didn't feel comfortable showing it and that her wish was ignored. I still love this cover to pieces though.

Strike a Pose with Coco Rocha

If you don’t recognize the name, you will definitely recognize her face. Coco Rocha (pronounced “ro-sha”) has been the face of brands like Dior, Balenciaga, Chanel, and Zac Posen. This season alone, you’ll see her in ads for Longchamp, White House | Black Market and L’Oreal, as well as schooling aspiring models on America’s Next Top Model.

Discovered at an Irish dancing competition when she was 14, the Toronto-native has embraced her quirks and encourages others to celebrate what they consider flaws. “It’s you, not the clothes, that makes something look amazing,” she says.

Now, Coco is bringing her unabashed style philosophy to Target. When it comes to style, she cites Elizabeth Taylor as her icon. “She didn’t have a stylist,” she gushes. “Everything she wore was quirky and crazy—it was absolutely her.”

As Target’s guest stylist for May, Coco styled ten looks that represent a piece of her, from a casting call-appropriate outfit to playful threads that remind her of her childhood. “What you wear should describe you,” she encourages. “There should be stories behind your clothing.”
