I was going through old editorial work and it is a damn shame that pretty much all of the Vogue editions ignore Coco now. The last thing I can remember her doing is a shared vogue italia editorial with Sasha and Karlie a year back or two. She has done some amazing work, I believe she still is capable of doing amazing work (just look at those Balmain shots), models from her generation like Sasha and Doutzen and Caroline get some Vogue and other A list magazine attention still so why is it that all that we are getting is sparse C list things like L'offcial Thailand? Anyone have any insights as to why Coco basically disappeared from A list high fashion magazines?

^ it's a crime really... Coco seems so genuinely sweet and passionate about her work. She really must enjoy modelling - bringing all the energy of Vogue Italia to shoots for magazines like L'officiel Manila. Whether it's the little modelling anecdotes that pepper her social media or how she comments on even instagram confession pages, she's always been great at engaging with fans. We've seen the steady decline in the prestige of her editorial work - first the Vogue covers stopped (last seen in 2013), then she was only shooting Bazaar and Elle for secondary markets, now it's small magazines like L'officiel Thailand and Cosmo India. I don't think there are many other models who've had as prestigious careers as Coco that would make the effort to shoot exclusives for tiny L'officiels and Bazaars unless they really loved the job and creating imagery. Obviously she still does occasional campaign and runway work, but it's so odd that someone so passionate and consistent as a model only gets sporadic work. And not to rant about the Kendalls and Gigis who've taken her place on Vogue and in campaigns, but the quality of the images Coco can create is immensely stronger than any 'insta-girl'.

She has her own modelling agency now so maybe mags only deal with big agencies? Perhaps at the time she didn't make enough connections with A list photographers and stylists?

^ i think you might be right, especially about the connections part, after all, even top models have to network. She seems to be friendly with designers, especially JPG, but the only editor is perhaps Grace Coddington, who mentioned her in the September Issue Documentary when Coco was at her height. Wasn't Grace behind Maggie Rizer's Vogue editorial comeback last year? Now that Grace is no longer creative director, i think Coco's chances for ever shooting US Vogue again are slim.

I really miss seeing Coco in US Vogue and other major publications. No one can question what a brilliant and iconic model she is. You can tell she's passionate about her work since she brings incredible energy in every single shoot she does. She's one of those models who can really elevate a story to a whole new level with her presence and charm.

It's such a shame she's not doing jobs for big magazines or designers/brands anymore.
To me, she has grown a lot since she started, she turned into a strong and stunning woman and model.
And I agree with you, maybe it's all about connections. Maybe is her fault, when she signed with IMG I was expecting and happy for her, I thought that would be a great oportunity to make a big comeback, but it didn't happen and she's now with her 'own' agency.
I know fashion has change so much since her early days, but maybe one day she will make that big comeback on the runway for one of those designers she worked when she started, someone like Marc Jacobs, Donatella, Karl Lagerfeld, and especially this last one, she used to works a lot with him.
At least Jean Paul Gaultier has been so loyal with her.

That Bazaar Thailand story is the best I´ve seen of her in ages :D Take notice VI!!
Thanks for sharing.

The Bazaar cover and story really encapsulate what I mean when I'm talking about what an incredible model Coco is. Get her back in US Vogue asap, the woman is a legend!
