I LOVE mixing prints. the key is finding prints that compliment, like houndstooth/checkers or plaid/skinny stripes, paisley/polka dots. I'm REALLY into the last 2 images from the Herchcovitch!!!

I like mixing patterns, esp. mixing prints with embroidery. I think the "difficulty" just lies in the fact that most of us don't OWN that many prints that go together in the first place, because we don't usually expand our wardrobes with mixing patterns specifically in mind. It's usually more of a serendipitous thing when it does work.

It's easy if you're designing from scratch. You can then choose complementary fabrics, textures, palettes, patterns.

As long as it doesn't become another 80's plaid-on-plaid-ON-plaid trend.
