Im hoping those who have interned in the UK, in some major magazines, especially those who have done so by heading to the UK from annother country can help me out....
I am hoping to transfer my last year of uni to study in the UK.
i took the 'long and windy path'
to uni and have been working full time as well as doing freelance experience and work for different publications - so i have a good portfolio behind me.
unfortunatly, until i finish uni a magazine that i love will probably not hire me on the spot with out my degree, so i am hoping to gain an internship in a mag. i do however have experience as a journalist in fashoin, lifestyle, food & wine and editorial published in australian versions of the magazines also published in the UK, Dazed and Confused and Cosmopoliton, as well as a wide range of other magazines and small boutique magazines that are stocked worldwide.
what i would love to hear is feedback from people who have worked as an intern on vogue, Another Mag, Dazed and Confused, or any other mags along the same vein and what kind of work they have had you doing in editorial. were you able to come in two days a week in order to do uni etc the other days? if coming from OS were you able to find an agency to help you with your placement? and if not how did you get in contact with them for eg email to the address on their website?.... im unfortunatly lacking in my UK connections
thanks xxx
