Connor Ives S/S 2026 London

I really like the energy around him. There is something very early Matthew Williamson or Julien McDonald about him in a way. But the clothes however... There is potential, but he needs a stylist or a better stylist ? And it is a bit furstrating how literal his latest collections have been.

The setting doesnt help as well to be quite honest.

I know the Richard Quinn collection has a bigger budget and it is "better" done, but I change all of that heavy matronly couture for the salmon gown in here.
Loved the flower, it is so cinematic.
This could be the girl that suddenly disappears in The Long Goodbye or Inherent Vice.

The shoes are mostly fabulous.

I remember how promising his first lookbooks were. He didn’t even had a hit to flop so what happened?
I agree. I think the hype around dressing Adwoa for the Met Gala got to him. He didn't flesh out an identity (or a brand) beyond his upcycled dresses that were so popular.

I always get the feeling he's short on fabric. I guess he's an up-cycler when it comes to design but there's so many pieces here that either needed just a little more added to it or another variant or two in the same fabric.

Another iteration/exploration of the salmon feather, the black leather disc embroidery (pants perhaps, or as a glorious bias style shorter skirt with handkerchief hems), another jacket because the random satin one seems so odd on its own. The collection just comes across as so pallid and anemic because there isn't enough of it to take up the space of a runway presentation. The location doesn't help, but that could have been offset with a little more substance to the collection as a whole.
