Cost of Production

just and FYI...
when i was a buyer....
the markup on accessorie was always a bit higher...
you can make a bigger profit there usually, because they don't cost as much to make...

Cruise?

no it's the Flannels group thanks.

I wasn't being cheeky, so I'm not sure what the "thanks" was about - I was just trying to find out who you were with, and I thought you were Scottish, so I guessed Cruise (no one else in Scotland would carry the whole evisu range).

Anyway, aren't Flannels and Cruise affiliated - doesn't the boy Gibson own both?

I'm not sure what any of this has to do with the actual cost of 'production' though.

Which has nothing to do with agents, design, distribution and any other miscellaneous cost you wish to throw in.

Cruise was the initial set-up, then flannels was set up under different management...

flannels are established in leeds, manchester, birmingham, chester...

there is a cruise flannels in nottingham

and cruise are located in Glasgow (which was formally a flannels) edinburgh and Newcastle.

Don't forget that Flannels also owns OKI-NI :-

hense why it's sold in stores ;)

That's a slightly different situation altogether though.

I know this is a bit off top, but I'm certain that there was never a flannels in Glasgow. Cruise has been there for years, originally in a small shop in Renfield Street, where it grew into a larger store, and then moved to Ingram Street.

Didn't POLLYANNA of Barnsley once own it , when they expanded to Glasgow and Nottingham ?

I think Rita Britton talks on the website about how she was rescued from financial ruin by the good graces of no less than David Sainsbury :-

Read ALL about it !!!

No, that was a different store Kit, called the Warehouse. A brilliant shop in its day. Ah it takes me back. .... going in there when I was 16 to look at bright red JPG blazers (like Bros wore!).

My mistake .

I feel your pain . ;)

To get back on topic - It never ceases to amaze me that Flannels reduces its prices for the sales but then puts the clothes back on the rack for the next appropriate season at the original price - wholesale prices or not .

Flannels has an outlet shop in the upmarket Lowry Centre Mall in Salford , but it tends to be full of the Liam Gallagher-type streetwear like CP COMPANY et al , rather than its delicious ' haut de gamme ' labels like Gucci, Prada , YSL etc etc .

Ah, I've not seen that trick with Cruise to be fair. What I have seen though - and this is unique in my experience - is a five pound mark down on a £120 shirt. "roll up roll up - up to 2.78% off Jil Sander shirts". The Cruise sale is a joke, and is one of the reasons that i don't like to shop there.

As an aside, to get back off topic, I got lost a the lowry centre a couple of weeks ago. Gor dropped off there by an idiot taxi driver to whom my instructions were "the lowry hotel". Not the same thing apparently, and not very close to each other either!!

So you're an aficionado of Manchester's only 5 star hotel . :o

Fine dining by courtesy of Marco Pierre White . :p

The Lowry Hotel is only a short walk away from Selfridges , Louis Vuitton , Harvey Nicks , Hermes , Flannels , Richard Creme etc etc !!! ;)

I'll bet Helena wished she was with you , brisk walk between the two or not .

So sorry for this misdemeanor , Helena . I should NOT encourage wilful irrelevance , me being a schoolmaster an' all .
