A little dull but I thought I should post it anyway - some nice knits and good tailored pieces.

PARIS, February 28, 2006 – In his program notes, Costume National’s Ennio Capasa suggested that the rock chick he dressed in the nineties has grown up. Unfortunately, the designer seems to think that growing up means losing your edge, judging from his uncharacteristically muted fall show. Despite experimenting with both long and short, eighties-tight and sixties-loose, suggestive and naïve, the collection felt a bit repetitive. There were eminently wearable minicoats, trenches, and the season’s de rigueur half-wool/half-fur overcoat, but they lacked a recognizable identity that will make women seek them out.

Pants, once a Costume National strong suit with their masculine yet sexy fit, inexplicably came with pleats beginning at the top of the thigh. They’re as likely to see the light of day as the stiff leather floor-grazing skirt that was also shown. Thankfully, for evening Capasa took a more sensual approach. He mostly abandoned last season’s superfluous jeweled embellishments—save for one sleek sheath that was fully beaded in front and plain in back—and focused on cut. Bustier dresses were fitted to just above the knee, as were his skirt suits, and he threw in a couple of voile gowns. The stronger of the two came with braided straps and fell in soft tiers to the floor—at last a hint of what grown-up rock chic might look like.

I kind of agree with her - what Capasa does, he does well, but there's only so much of it you can see before stifling a yawn.

I agree that it is not the most creative collection, but I absolutely adore it! Very wearable. Reminds me of the Eighties. I always get these strange associations...

boring...

nothing that really says 'Costume National' in this collection...

Yawn.. Some pieces are not that bad, but I have nothing to say about this collection, really.

A perfect example of what years of working in Milan can do to a perfectly good talent. Perhaps he needs to show in Milan where the show might have stood up better to the rest of the crowd. Or get better assistants.

In general boring .. reminds me of something a more mature person would wear. I like the bluey grey colour and the light grey colour all though a whole outfit in it is a bit boring for my liking.

I have always found costume national great for seperates, but the runway styling/look never did much for me.

it is very simple, wearable and nice - just keep it simple ^_^

I love what Ana Mihajlovic is wearing

Don't they normally show in Milan?

A little...dull, like a glass of water.

with no ice :D so its not refreshing. its just water.

Satisfying but not impressive. I feel he could totally push the collection a lot more. Showing in Paris I think he'll have to.

Wow I like it a lot..it should be in Milan though, maybe thats y every1 feels its dull
