Courrèges F/W 2023.24 Paris

he’s least interesting proposition so far. it start wells but gets incredibly basic. also, that brand gimmick on the clothes is not good at all neither is that repetitive oversized necklace.

The setting, the casting, and the music are top-tier. It's selling you the Courrèges universe.

I like the clothes, despite not being too thrilled about the circular mirror necklaces. I think he did a great job of modernizing the Courrèges look. And that is not an easy task, because ironically the space age futuristic fashion has always been the hardest one to make it look contemporary. Di Felice knows how to update the classic Courrèges looks and make them easier to wear.
I can see flashes of Ghesquière's Balenciaga throughout the collection.

I think the styling can be better, it's a little bit complicated this season. I hope Marie Chaix will find a better balance next season, and not pull a MAS with extreme layering.

Overall another hit for me from Nicolas this season. The best contemporary brand right now. And their prices are reasonable and the quality is great. So cheer to that.

Another great show from Di Felice. He knows really well how to incorporate archival references, make them relevant again and merge with his own concepts. This time, even if I could do without the silver discs, there are many wearable pieces and great ideas, such as the tailoring adjusted to the wearers' habits.

So c*nty.

I don't love the silver discs but I do love the attitude they convey.

I personally like the more basic looks over the architectural jackets.

I could have used more archival pieces but I'm sure those are in the showroom.

It looks quite interesting in the beginning; but then it becomes into another 60s retro-futurist cosplay convention.

Not as good as last season for me but I really love seeing his work. The atmosphere of the show was great too. The shapes introduced in the first section are my favorite tbh. The logo play made me chuckle.

Silver discs ... I can take it or leave it

Not as good as in the past… he should change/fire the stylist

I really enjoyed this show, so I decided to check out the collection is stores before the Christmas break. Despite the use of synthetics (it is Courrèges' signature, but you never know with Kering), the fabrics feel good against the skin and the finishing appears to be flat and clean.

Surprisingly, the weird coats and jackets made it into production and I was correct in my prediction of them being €2'000 to €4'000. Like in the show, they still have the slits that the wearer can pass their arms though. The coat can also be worn normally with the slits zipped up. The design feature is actually quite ingenious and I hope that they reuse it for future seasons. The collar effect is from the hoodies styled underneath.

The reflective torque necklace is sold separately, so everything that it was styled with for the show just has an obscenely large cutout or low neckline, with the only exception are the bras Mouna and Vittoria wore. The torque necklaces don't seem very convincing on their own, which is a shame. As much as I loved those pieces in the show, there really should've been modifications for production. The draped dress suspended from a necklace (don't worry, it comes as a whole) was more intriguing, but the huge logo really spoils the design. It would've been a good idea to offer a logo-less version.

They've also released two new bags, the Cloud which was shown in the lookbook and the Sleek bag which was shown on the runway. I always like minimalist bags, so no complaints here.
