Courrèges S/S 2014

Looking to rejuvenate the house, owners Jacques Bungert and Frédéric Torloting split the Courrèges spring collection into three groups: the crisp, youthful and lower-priced Pepsy line; the sophisticated Contour line, eveningwear included, and a small selection of sportswear pieces, like a full-body Neoprene suit, that will eventually evolve into “a full-grown range,” said Torloting.

Cropped jackets with Sixties-inspired miniskirts was the main look here, kept fresh in a palette of cream, peach, baby pink and pale blue. As the silhouettes stayed true to the house’s original simple, geometric lines, there was a stronger focus on fabrics, i.e., raffia, cotton piqué and dense crepe.

Basics? From Courrèges? How groundbreaking...!!

Why even bother trying to bring it back in the first place? Seems like Courreges, in his heyday, was the red-headed stepbrother of Cardin & Rabanne. But, hey, if we have Dior, and Balmain, why not?

Ugh I really wish they would stop trying to milk these iconic old houses and just let their legacy rest in peace. This looks like J Brand, not even CLOSE to the spirit of Courrèges. I would, however, get behind it if they got someone like Nicolas Ghesquière to do it, not this crap.

100% my feeling too! NG. would be a perfect designer for this house!
