I found this video, I've been looking for it for a while. This is when Courtney Love was on top of the world.

Regardless of what Courtney is doing now, whether I can appreciate it or not, I will never say anything bad about her. She doesn't need that. She created some of the most passionate most original music I've ever heard, starting with "Pretty On The Inside" to "Live Through This" to "Celebrity Skin." She had this language, this style. Her evolution was so clear. She was a feminist. She'd scream and slam her guitar with that bleached hair, those babydoll dresses, all of that unnecessary makeup, and those tiaras for a reason. She was hyperaware of how ****ed up and shallow or world is, how we treat or women, what we teach or men, she'd reflect that in her music and her words and her being. She was brilliant. When she'd scream "Was she asking for it?" (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dicknail) she was screaming at our world. Hole's music was so great. From the angry wordy genre-confused rock of 1991 to the pop days of "Celebrity Skin." Although maybe she's been corrupted by Hollywood, maybe she's lonely and tired, maybe she's been corrupted by drugs and material things and her work will never be as pure as it was in the 90's, maybe she'll never be as pure as she was then. Maybe she'll fade away. Maybe people will forget who she was. Though, I won't.
I'm glad she never burnt out. There is so much to be angry about, there is so much cruelty, but still there is so much beauty in this world.
