Covers of the Decade

My top covers are not my favorite covers of the decade, but are covers that I think that will be called collector's item in a few years...

Vogue US September 2007 -- not just because of the fact that it is the biggest issue of Vogue US, but because the film that was made of this issue made it (IMO) one of the most discussed issue of all times.

Vogue Italia July 2007 -- I think this issue reflects one of the biggest trends of the past three years: REHAB!

Vogue Italia January 2005 -- In this decade celebrities were turned into gods, and this issue is the perfect register of the crazy obsession about celebrities.

Vogue Paris March 2001 -- It just shows that you don't need an incredible set to make an amazing photoshoot, just a great model and a good photographer.

Vogue Italia July 2008 -- I think it showed the world that fashion is not racist, IMO.

Vogue Paris April 2007 -- That image of Lara is strong, fashion, fierce, sporty, elegant, sexy, beautiful at the same time and a image like that it's very hard to find.

Vogue Italia October 2008 -- IMO one of the most fierce cover ever!

Vogue US September 2004 -- I don't even have to say anything, just look at the models on the cover.

Numéro February 2007 -- One of the best Dolce & Gabbana dress ever, this cover just screams future but not in that UFO, alien obvious way.

I love this thread, it's a reminder of so many good covers. Sadly, when it comes to my own taste, I have a one-track mind and things are rather simple (well, "simple" if you discount all the glitter, lipstick and hairspray

Lovely choices tigerrouge! I was going to add Gwyneth's UK Vogue cover to my picks... but I had to finally just stop

So many hated that Kirsten Dunst cover but I loved it & very nice that you included that Kidman cover as well. Both of those issues are faves of mine.

God, you could do this all night. I do appreciate an inventive cover, but when it comes down to what I squirrel away in my collection, I seem to have a certain taste.

I see that particular Vogue Italia cover with Snejana is a recurring favourite, and with good reason. Given how so many different people are so fond of it, maybe it's the cover of the decade, simply on the grounds of love.

I'm not able to choose just one cover for each magazine so here is my list of the covers of the decade:

First, the most important to me Vogue Paris!!! I&V, M&M, Testino, Demarchelier, Kate, Lara, Natasha - do I need to say anything else?



Vogue Italia. Hmmmm let's take a moment for this magazine. Steven is the bigest photographer of our times and definitely his covers are important to many of us. Here you have my fav.



Numero - like VP is one of the best and important magazines to me. Fantastic editorials and beautifull covers.



V magazine, I like it not love it. It's good we have mag like this.



W magazine - I think they should made only covers with celebrieties, becouse they know how to do it!!!



Vogue USA - the most boring covers of the decade!!! But I always can't wait to see the supermodels issues.



The best covers are those, who changed sth in the fashion or those, who are showing me that fashion is not only a world of skinny models and big designers.
That's why a special place in my heart got a 'black' issue of VI, VI covers after YSL and Heather Bratton death and 4 cover of VP supporting Kate Moss after drug afair.
