Craig Green Menswear S/S 2023 Paris

I love this guy more on a theoretical level than an actual one. For example, I find the introduction of formal elements into his vocabulary more than welcome but then his "suits" are ruined but his endless obsession for useless decorative elements, all those straps and laces he thinks essential to define his style. I'd like him to get rid of some of those gimmicks, already seen a thousand times (don't let me get into those kite-like contraptions) and try and find a better balance between the conceptual and the purely utilitarian.

I'm glad there were fewer "paraphernalia" looks. The thing about Craig is that the stuff that actually hits the sales floor are a great compromise of wearable and interesting construction. All those coats and jackets are awesome irl. He knows how to push merchandise, so I wish the collections would reflect that.

Lots of good stuff here for example that are desirable as separates. Love that peach color palette too.

I don't mind this, but those armature pieces really don't do anything for me anymore. Thankfully there's less of them. The tabs would also just frustrate me a lot if I were wearing them, like an annoying fly that lingers around your face too much.

That being said, really like the print towards the end. Something about them feels like caution tape meets Rorschach ink-blots and I prefer the singular print colour to the multiple (looks 31 to 35 just... no). In general, I actually like the colours in this. All of them look like they belong in various terrain specific camouflage/army attire.

Green would have fared way better with the Mystery Ranch collaboration than Kim Jones because with Green it just makes sense.
