Cream vs. Powder Blushes

Ok that may not have helped but blush is the most important makeup in the world to me. As well as touche eclat. And foundation. And lipstick. And... you get the picture.

It depends on the finish you want. Natural go for creme, strong go for powder. You'll be able to find something in either that suits your skin

I am currently using Clarins' Multi-Blush but it fades quickly so to hold it in place I add a stroke of Blush Delicieux by L'Oreal. Both are great together and safe for the skin = no pimples.
But I have normal to dry skin

I use powder. I actually have found that it looks more natural than cream. I have semi oily skin and when I use cream it gets greasy really fast.

I have, and I actually quite like it. It goes on creamy and has a nice matte finish. It's kind of an "I-just-ran-a-mile" look.

I too have oily skin & use powder blush. It's definitely possible to get a natural look with it.

Powder blush will rid you of the shine do to oily skin.

Also, I find cream blush application to be a pain in the butt. If you apply it with fingers you end up with more blush on your fingers than on you cheeks. It you apply it with a brush it goes on unevenly and looks strange.

I suggest going with powder.

^ Some people use a foundation brush to help with cream blush (I think fingers, then brush). I don't like using my fingers, but I also don't like brushes you have to wash everytime you use them ... just because of the extra work

My skin is poised to break out at all times given the slightest encouragement, and I think cream blush would give me more blackheads that I do not need.

i like to use cheek stain & then layer colour on . . w/powder + cream !

The cream blushes are easier to apply if they really are creamy and not liquid or gel like some are.

I have a clinique gel blush that it´s a bit hard to apply, but if you are using foundation, it does smooth better because you already have a base to start with and to blend in.
If you are wearing nothing except moisturizer, this thing grabs on to your skin and makes it almost impossible to blend.

I also like to layer sometimes, like i<3chanel. The cream blush adds dept and more staying power and the powder blush sets all up and adds even more colour!

Definitely powder-- I have a Clinique cream blush that I bought and it has never gone on evenly. I guess it's not creamy enough. I need to get a new blush, I was thinking of trying Nars "orgasm' b/c I am a redhead and I saw in In Style that Marcia Cross recommended that.

I f cream blush is not creamy enough to spread, or if you want to smooth on the colour, you can allways add a tiny bit of moisturizer and mi it in your hand prior to the use.

I sometimes do this with gel blush.

If I'm doing a full face of make up, and

I'm wearing a primer and/or liquid foundation,
I'll do cream blush (light dots along up cheekbone) and blend,
then powder blush on top. The color is more intense, and I believe it stays longer.
Just plain powder seems to wear off w/ time.
