Customers own Property is the creation of London based, German born designer Sabine Braeuninger. who started the label after graduating from the MA Fashion Womenswear course at Central St Martins College in 2001. She has worked with Robert Cary-Williams and Hussein Chalyan whilst still in college, and in addition to her own label she has worked freelance for NewYorkIndustrie, assisting Kostas Murkudis. Sabine and her label have twice been awarded New Generation sponsorship by the British Fashion Council. Customers Own Property's twice yearly collections of designer womenswear are distinguished by an emphasis on the design process, incorporating tailoring techniques with random elements. Signature elements are distorted shapes, distressed materials, and interrupted patterns and prints. The label aims to provide a product that whilst being wearable, is seen as part of an ongoing process- through showing the evidence of it's own making, and through it's openess to transformation by the wearer.
