^ yeah, he does have a crush on him: it is so obvious in his interviews.

And Daniel has a crush on his clothes: it is said that he was literally shedding tears after every ruined custom-made suit that Tom made for him for Quantum of Solace. They have spend so many suits, one after the other, even in stunts and many extremely expensive suits got damaged beyond repair.

It does.

His image is meticulously perfected by the James Bond producers. Not to dilute that image even the slightest is crucial. And if that means a requirement of a personal moviestar wardrobe worth at least 100,000 dollars, why not?

I bet he did not spend a dime from his pocket for all the TF suits he wears all the time, promoting the movie and whatever. I am sure all the expenses are handled by the producers - since he is the perfect Bond... James Bond they sell.
