Daphne Guinness

This is from the Daily Mail in April 2008, but- how cool she is!! B)

'Most stylish woman alive' Daphne Guinness auctions £60,000 of designer items at knockdown prices for charity

When heiress Daphne Guinness had a spring-clean of her wardrobe she filled more than a few bags for the charity shop. In fact it is taking more than three hours to auction the designer pieces she no longer wants.
The 260 lots are being sold today in aid of Womankind, a charity offering training and education to women in developing countries. It is estimated the sale will raise about £60,000.
A spokeswoman for Guinness, who has been a model, artist and fashion designer, said: "Like girls do, she bought things she thought she would wear but some got lost at the back of her closet and were never worn while others, like her favourite Chanel suits, she wore over and over.
"She has been struggling to say goodbye to everything but she knows it's for a good cause Womankind does great work."
Kerry Taylor of fashion auctioneers Kerry Taylor Auctions, which helped set up the event with eBay, said: "Anyone purchasing pieces in this sale will be able to pick up top designer-wear at a fraction of the original purchase cost. Tom Ford believes Daphne to be one of, if not, the most stylish woman living and I would tend to agree."

Oh woah, that quote from Jezebel just makes me think of Isabella Blow, going out in her prime in a blaze of glory. So sad.

Ms Daphne from US Harpers Bazaar in 2002 I believe- How beautiful is she in these pictures!!?

^she should maybe do something about her hair. it's a bit too halloween'ish witchy.

The Bride of Frankenstein hair ages her 15 years. I assumed she was in her mid 50s. Still, I don't believe she is as young as the article claims

^ I love her obsession with Knights and armor...I haunt the armor exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art...I wonder if Daphne has any suits of armor in her home- wouldn't surprise me in the least.. B)

^ For some reason I don't like seeing her around Zahm..he creeps me out and she seems extra....bizarre when they are together...

I hear ya! I was just thinking that her aesthetic has become so extreme, it's like she's gotten all this recognition for her look and so she's thought "how far can I go with this" and now she looks like someone at a Halloween party dressed as Daphne Guinness. :(

^ Yeah, in my mind's eye I always see her in black, too! (It is very Chanel, no??)B) If you look quickly, that can look like a latex dress...I think I saw it in the window of a sex shop down on South Street...
