Speaking at the premiere of short film ‘Away We Stay’, which was commissioned by W London Hotel, he told BANG Showbiz: “I’m up for model of the year in December – I’ve got my fingers crossed for that. I’m up against the girls for it – Rosie and Lara – so it would be great to win it.”

I’ve also got some Dolce campaigns coming out, and then there’s another project which I can’t really talk about. After that there are a couple of other projects with Dolce and Gabbana coming up for next May in time for the show season which should be interesting.”
‘Away We Stay’ – which can be viewed at wlondon.co.uk/awaywestay – was shot on location in London’s Leicester Square and was written and directed by Edoardo Ponti.
In the film, David and Helena play fleeting lovers who have to decide whether they want to make a new life together.

The Gossip:
1) Away We Stay is a 13 minute fil starring supermodel Helena Christensen and the mighty fine D&G model David Gandy. The plot involves Gandy and Christensen meeting in a hotel lounge where they have a steamy encounter leading to a decision on whether or not they should run away together. How very Romeo and Juliet!
2) Gandy, who is the highest paid male model in the world, is so modest (or maybe slightly dim) as he revealed he struggled with learning his lines for the film. “At the end, all I had to say was, ‘My name’s Adam.’ But I said, ‘My name’s David.’ Oh my God! I couldn’t believe it – we had to do the entire thing over again!”
3) There is a ‘To Be Continued’ caption at the end but no sing of a part 2 coming soon… If there is, the party squad would all volunteer to star in it alongside gorgeous Gandy.
The British model smooches the Danish catwalk beauty in new 12-minute short film ‘Away We Stay’, in which his character Adam has a brief tryst with photographer Alex Worthington, who is portrayed by Helena.
Speaking at the premiere of short film ‘Away We Stay’ - which was commissioned by W London Hotel - in London last night (15.11.10), David admits if someone had told him when he was a teenager he would one day get to kiss Helena for his job he wouldn’t have been able to comprehend it.
The 30-year-old heartthrob told BANG Showbiz: “It's not a bad day job to be able to kiss Helena Christensen, she is absolutely beautiful. It wasn't bad, not bad at all.
“If someone said to me, 'You're going to shoot a film and kiss Helena Christensen,' when I was 17 or 18 I would have been pleased. It doesn't get much better really. It's all good."
David also insists it was great to work with the 41-year-old brunette on the project because neither of them had any prior acting experience which meant they were able to support each other on set.
He added: “It was easy to work with Helena, she's a great person, model and photographer, so we had a lot in common in regards to that. We got on well and we're both new to the acting business, so we worked together to help each other. That was good because it wasn't like either of us we're working with a fantastic actor straight away. So I thought we looked after each other really well.”
‘Away We Stay’ – which can be viewed at wlondon.co.uk/awaywestay -was shot on location in London’s Leicester Square and was written and directed by Edoardo Ponti.
It was inspired by 1966 classic British film ‘Blow Up’ and gives the first
the views available from the W London Hotel, which is due to open in February 2011.
bloginity, musicrooms, zoegriffinThe model-and-actor – who made his name as the face and body of the Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue campaign and now stars alongside Helena Christensen in new short movie ‘Away We Stay’ – admits he was asked to slim down when he first started out but refused to as he wanted to remain healthy.
He said: “Of course I was under pressure to lose weight. But I stood my ground and said, ‘I can’t be skinny’ though – it wouldn’t have been possible to do it healthily, even if I tried. I was quite chubby when I was 15 and then I shot up and was really skinny.”
David is pleased the trend for skinny male models seems to be dwindling and more ‘real men’ are now being used in campaigns.
He told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “Me, Mario Testino and Dolce & Gabbana did the ‘guy in the white pants’ Light Blue advert, which everyone loved. Then Armani did it with David Beckham. Then Calvin Klein brought out the Man fragrance. so you could probably say we started the whole thing. I’m proud that although there’s still the androgynous guys who do a lot of the shows, the bigger guys get a lot more work now, too.”

1/ What is common to acting and modelling?
Good actors and models are very camera aware. They have to be conscious of minute movements in their facial expressions and what these convey. They should also concentrate in their body movements, how they look best, from which angles
what angles etc.
2/ Have you ever fallen in love in a hotel?
No.
3/ Were you lost in translation in front of Helena Christensen?
No we got along very well.
4/ Is a Hotel a place to pass by or to stay?
If you don’t stay in a hotel its pretty much pointless.
5/ What is your favourite room in the W hotel?
It’s not open yet. Opens in February. Hopefully I will look forward to figuring it out.
6/ What would you imagine to see there through a peephole?
A bed.
7/ Do you think hotels are meant to become nostalgic places since people come and go?
Of course. Many hotels around the world are such historic places. If you are very lucky you get to walk, talk and sleep where many famous and iconic people have been.
8/ Can a hotel feel like home?
Only if you own it I suppose
9/ Do you stay away or do you always come back?
They are certain things that you should always stay away from.
I agree wih you florider2000, but maybe a bit too harshAfter all it is just a very small video and maybe if the director is good or if they spend more time on set it might be a different story...but I agree that 2 more models prooved they can not really be good actors.
