David Hlinka was born in Smithtown, New York, where he grew up participating in such sports as golf, basketball, ice hockey and swimming. In high school, after multiple seasons of golfing in the Junior PGA, David put the golf clubs aside to focus on ice hockey and varsity swimming.

David plans to travel to every continent and experience as much of the world as possible. In the summer of 2010, David spent two weeks living with a host family in France, which (along with skydiving) was his most exciting experience thus far. David currently attends CUNY Hunter to pursue his passion for filmmaking, and waits tables in his spare time to fund his desire to travel.

Discovered riding the E train in NYC by Brandon Wilson from Wilson Model Management, David’s first season kicked off earlier this year in NY where he walked for Richard Chai and Marc Jacobs. Last month he hit Europe, walking for Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Louis Vuitton. His first ever shoot was with David Armstrong, and he has since been in Interview photographed by Robbie Fimmano. Phew, that’s quite a pedigree. David is shaping up to be best in show!
