David Keough is known in Australia as one of the country’s leading hair stylists. After starting his career at the tender age of 14, David began working at the top salons known in the country. For 7 years, he honed his craft in Sydney at Synergy Hair, owned by legendary hairstylist Sharon Maher. During his time with Synergy, he was able to branch out to work on hair expos and international celebrity Sarah Murdoch. He went on to work for Valonz in Paddington for another 7 years with well-known stylist Renya Xydis. He expanded his celeb list adding Elle Macpherson, Jodhi Meares, Megan Gale and many other TV personalities. Three decades later and removed from the place he calls home, he is more popular than ever!
His first editorial shoot was with Cleo Magazine out of Australia and went on to work more with the likes of Red, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, Glamour and even global phenoms Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan, and Vogue. His talent led him to become a Style Consultant for John Frieda, allowing him to forecast trends and help develop iconic looks for the brand from 2003 to 2007. David was able to juggle all of these tasks while his career began to skyrocket. One of his personal highlights was as Hair Director for Tigerlily during Sydney Fashion Week in 2003 and 2004. He left Sydney to take on the U.S. market in 2007 and has hardly looked back.
Currently based in Los Angeles, David brings a quiet confidence to every job he does. Whether doing fashion campaigns in studio for BCBG Max Azria or on location in Tulum, Mexico shooting the latest Tigerlily campaign, David knows how to create the look that his diverse clientele have come to expect. When asked what the look of the moment is David responds by saying "It's all about Victoria's Secret Hair right now. There is height at the top and big bouncy curls at the bottom. I call it the Ultimate Siren look!" David adds, "Making women look sexy is my thing...and they just love it!" Miranda Kerr would agree. David has been making sexy a part of Kerr’s life for the last 10 years from Victoria’s Secret to a 2010 marketing campaign for David Jones.
Since David arrived in Hollywood, talent conglomerate Celestine Agency has created an extensive client list. He has recently been collaborating with stars such as Parks and Recreation comedienne Amy Poehler, Doll House actress Eliza Dushka, Biggest Loser training guru Jillian Michaels’ along with all of the ads for her growing collection of products. Corporate advertising clients such as Wal-Mart, Jenny Craig, TJMaxx, and Purina Cat Food have all jumped on the opportunity to work with David. As a sought out stylist among many in the land of talent, it’s no wonder 30 years later he still loves the industry.
