PHOTO SPECIAL
A special issue concentrating on documentary and reportage photography, and going behind the camera with the photographers who shoot for the magazine. Includes exclusive images from contributors such as Benjamin Alexander Huseby, Rankin & Damien Hirst, Ryan McGinley, Will McBride, Manuela Pavesi and many more. We also ask Danny Fields, the man at the heart of the Lower East Side scene of the late 70s, to open his private photo stash; Hackney-based photographer Stephen Gill talks about his audio portraits; while Chantal Regnault remembers covering New York's voguing and drag ball scene of the 80s.

Nice photo but don't like it for their cover. Thanks for posting, Flashbang!

Love that they don't just slap another trite image of a model or celebrity on their covers, they always go for something inventive and different. Even when you don't love it, you have to respect it for being unique.

the green against the woman on the left's skintone is divine.

Well, isn't that rather timid for Jeff Bark?.. the result looks like an edited, censured-with-glitter-and-pastels version of a Berlinde De Bruyckere sculpture. You can tell Katie had to struggle to bring down the grotesque element from 90 to 10 and make it fashion-friendly. I do love it.. I think it proves that you can challenge your readers and even make them uncomfortable just by combining all the elements that are already familiar to them, in the less familiar way.:heart:

Also nice to see Carlotta exploring something darker. And I'm strangely unimpressed with Car Park Couture.

Thanks for all the pics, guys!
