:woot: This skirt from YSL is not a good example for this subject.. Does anyone have pictures of the Moschino-clothes (or others) with oversized buttons? I think it looks really cool (maybe I get nostalgic when I think of big pink plastic buttons from my childhood in the eighties..)

I've always been fond of oversized buttons (as long as they are not too oversized), especially since most of my vintage coats have them, and even a couple of my newer coats. ^_^ here are some from cheap and chic.

^ I think these extremely large buttons can look a bit silly and excessive, but with the right look it can be uber cute.

I found some other pictures.. It must have been other designers than Moschino that used theese kind of buttons?...

I don't know if I should actually wear this..but maybe it's not what it's about.. It's just a funny detail..

and I loooooove that purple blazer. The whole outfit, actually, but especially the purple blazer. I have some large navy and black buttons from a jar of vintage buttons I bought at last year's South Park fabric fair... maybe I'll take pics later on...

does anyone know where to buy bulk buttons like those? i've been looking for them to add to my knitting and i can't seem to find them anywhere. levi's had some line of jackets and things that had some awesome buttons.

i love this marc jacobs skirt.

Patrick Kelly in the 80s instantly comes to mind, but I can't seem to find any pictures of his button looks.
I fell in love with this Gaultier Couture collection (S/S 03) the first time I saw it because I had just covered a black sweater with random buttons:

Sometimes you can find big jars of buttons in thrift shops.

o0o0o0o this is a f*cking cool thread! I was JUST thinking about changing out the buttons on this vintage long cardigan i got the other day... update it a bit.

methinks oversized buttons are in need :P

The green button is from a secondhand store in Rome...They have all different kinds but they all cost a fortune. The best thing is to buy old coats etc in really cheap markets, and take the buttons from there.

The other pic is kind of an experiment (that didnt work out well at all) I dit for a collection..;)

oh, of course...i have done. i meant to say online, but i guess i forgot.

i generally think a lot of buttons is tacky, but i'm really digging some of the big button styles. i like toggle buttons.

 Hey! Don't stop this thread yet! Handbags with buttons anyone?
