Decorative Buttons

Sometimes you can find big jars of buttons in thrift shops.

Any fabric shop will have some outsized buttons, and you should be able to Google for online sources.

I am very fond of unique buttons and frequently use unusual buttons as design points in the clothes that I make. Today, I'm wearing a velveteen skirt with 2" buttons all the way down the back.

Below, you see the buttons on a pleather trenchcoat I made. And my first decent set of bound buttonholes. 'Cause I can't ever do anything the easy way!

I've always been fond of oversized buttons (as long as they are not too oversized), especially since most of my vintage coats have them, and even a couple of my newer coats. ^_^ here are some from cheap and chic.

^ I think these extremely large buttons can look a bit silly and excessive, but with the right look it can be uber cute.

I agree! This outfit is totally cute. I love the buttons. Even though they are large...they fit the look.

what is the website for cheap and chic buttons? i've tried google several times but nothing really comes up.

The Cheap&Chic clothes wit buttons are from the autumn/wintercollection 2004. But all the pictures are here..

I didnt do that clothes..they are from Wooden Mustache..They look kind of homemade.. I really want to do something like that though, but right now I cant decide myself what to design, unfortunately..

I love those button badges! I can't remember where, but I saw the cutest blazer with these button flower-ish things on them. I'll look for the picture.
