With all the musical chairs going on, I want to start a thread focusing on designers' final collections ~ their swan songs before being let go from a major house. Do they go big, or have they already given up and are just collecting their paychecks?

This season, FW2025, we have Jil Sander and Kim Jones at Dior Homme so far
And maybe Maria’s Dior, maybe Daniel Lee's Burberry

My favorite will always be Marc Jacobs' Louis Vuitton Spring 2014 collection, and I am grateful that LVMH allowed for such an elaborate set

Olivier Theysken's for Nina Ricci Fall 2009, what a show! Those platform shoes live rent free in my mind, I hope to one day find a pair

Other honorable mentions include Gucci Fall 2005 by Alessandra Fachinetti, Marni Spring 2017 by Consuelo Castiglioni, and Chloe Fall 2008 by Paulo Melim Andersson.

Some of the ones in would post have already been posted, so here’s Givenchy’s last show. The end is sweet.

Karl’s last Chanel Métiers d’art show, too. His last ovation.

Wasn't it his last Haute Couture show? I thought his Ready-To-Wear SS 1996 was his final collection.

Gianfranco Ferre's last Christian Dior collection - RTW Spring/Summer 1997:

Karl's (first) last show for Chloé Spring/Summer 1984

Karl's (second) last show for Chloé Fall 1997

Marc Bohan for Dior RTW Fall 1989 (I suppose he didn't know it though 😬)
