Designer Prices in Beijing and Shanghai?

I'm going to Beijing (and possibly Shanghai) this summer. I'm just wondering what the prices for Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Burberry, etc. in their boutiques are like in comparison to the US and Canada? Would it be cheaper for me to purchase there or far more expensive (pls answer if you know for sure, even if just for a certain brand)?

far more expensive. The mainlanders flood to HK to buy the luxury goods.

Hong Kong is the only place cheaper, if you are buying goods off the department stores.

Is it actually cheaper in HK than Europe? Or just cheaper than mainland China?

It's cheaper than mainland China. But in the department stores such as Lane Crawford or Joyce, there are VIP cards (not too hard to save up to get) and you get 10% off stuff. These stores have nice handbag sections too that carry Chloe, Botkier, etc... That's what I love about Hong Kong. There are a lot of places with these kind of perks, and no tax.
That being said, I think Europe is still the cheapest, esp. with the exemption of vAT
