Diane Lane

How gorgeous is SHE!? Just beautiful. This thread makes me want to rent some of her earlier films.

From In Style's Karen Levy in Los Angeles: Working at In Style, I’ve been to my share of movie premières. But every once in a while, one comes along that really brings back the glamour of Old Hollywood—even if just for a little while. Well, last night was one of those evenings.
Ben Affleck, Adrien Brody, Diane Lane and a smattering of other stars, in fact, seemed almost in retro character for the opening of their latest film, Hollywoodland, at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

The invitation had called for "glamorous attire," and most of the guests obliged. The usual L.A. sprinklings of jeans and sandals were nowhere to be found, replaced by sexy cocktail dresses and suits—some guys even wore top hats! Brody accessorized his own look with a black cane.
Watch and jewelry maker Chopard, which sponsored the event, had lent diamonds to some of the stars, including Lane, who paired her earrings with a chic new short haircut, a silver Roberto Cavalli dress, Jimmy Choo shoes and a Sonal Adhikari crystal handbag. (Brody and Affleck sported Chopard watches.)

http://partyhopper.instyle.com/2006/09/west_coast_disp_3.html#moreAs I walked past the red carpet, the cameras were clicking away at Lane, Brody and Affleck (who was there with wife Jennifer Garner), as well as costars Robin Tunney, Kathleen Robertson and Bob Hoskins. In honor of the film’s bygone era, older-generation stars such as Eva Marie Saint, Jackie Collins and Peter Graves were also in attendance.
Although the movie started 45 minutes later than scheduled (because it took the stars so long to walk the press-packed red carpet), nobody seemed to mind. Guests mingled in the theater lobby until the head of Focus Features, James Schamus (who was also celebrating his birthday) got us to settle into our seats by introducing the cast members one by one. (Each of them stood up and waved to the audience.)
The after-party, held poolside at the Beverly Hills Hotel, kept the Old Hollywood theme going. As we walked down the hotel’s carpeted stairs, a live band played Latin jazz and cigarette girls offered smokes. I half expected to see Clark Gable, Rita Hayworth or Gary Cooper walk around a corner!
Since the line was long for the buffet spread of Caesar salad, vegetable medley, seared whitefish and meatloaf, I opted for the lobster BLT and tomato mozzarella appetizers instead—a smart move, as it left me with extra room for the cherries jubilee and bananas foster desserts.
Everyone raved about Affleck’s performance as George Reeves, TV’s original superman. Others talked about how Hoskins, who plays the head of MGM, deserves an Oscar nomination for his performance.
I’m curious to hear what readers think about these performances and the film as a whole, so please write in and let us know once the film hits theaters!

I love her photoshoots. I can't believe how naturally gorgeous and sexy she is. She proves that less is more.
