She's very intriguing... I'd love to know what lurks beneath her veil...

thanks for the thread, travolta. she's amazing. i still can't get over her cooking with bernhard willhelm video:heart:

(by the way i started a thread on the illustrator who used to do her invitations etc. some time ago, does anyone happen to have more information on him?)

hm.. what's his name anna?

btw. i posted a comment on her blog, for the picture of her in that grey over-sized jacket, and she emailed me back saying thank you!

jennifer, that's a good pic of her... ;)

she's beautiful! she looks a bit like paloma picasso !

i'd also like to know what's under her veil! :ninja:

i saw some pictures of haider ackermann show on her blog. looks fabulous and promising so far! i wanna see the rest of the collection!

Girl! What's with the hair.
It looks like she's hiding a camera there, to spy in fashion shows...

I'm probably in the minority here, but I kind of can't stand her. It's one thing to have a signature style, but turning oneself into a walking caricature is another thing entirely. Also I think it's a mistake to call her a fashion critic; her writing contains very little criticism per se. Every time I read her blog, I feel like I might as well be flipping through her events calendar while being simultaneously bombarded with a litany of dropped names.

But on the other hand, her commitment to emerging designers is admirable.

^ mmhm. i see what you're saying, but i think she is no more caricature than anyone else who walks around putting a lot of effort into the way they look. as far as fashion people go... i think she could be much worse...maybe i'm wrong but it doesn't even seem like she wears tons of designer clothes, unless she has a full closet full of the same black coat, skirt, shirt and bag. that may be the case ;P

how rude is it to roll up to all those fashion shows knowing all the poor people behind you wont be able to see a thing? she should take that thing off her head out of respect, if nothing else.

I'm so un-sophisticated I don't know anything about her (yet) BUT she does look breath-takingly beautiful. Which is not what we are discussing here, though ...

i really like her, but i agree with you found, id hate to sit behind her in a show..

I love her short films, and ehr style. She looks very beautiful in thous old pictures.

i also think she has an interesting style. (i'm curious to what's holding her hair up so straight) i've never seen anything like it :flower:  and also, i find out about a lot of designers/fashion+art personalities i've never heard of through her blog.

p.s. is there a way to see these films/videos (ex. cooking with Wilhelm) online?

like estella said, i'm certainly not in Diane's fan club
i dont believe how a stylish person can turn out to a complete caricature of herself, i dont even find her stylish since shes always looking the same through the ages..

as for critic.. what droogist said, far from, her blog speaks by itself.

she's quite 'hot' for emerging designers who think of her as 'important' but she's not too important at all
she's just someone who gets invites to events for looking weird, thats all she does..
i always wondered if she's actually styling or writting about fashion, so i asked 'people who know' but no, nada, she's just getting photographed and receiving invites for events to act as a mascot

sorry to say but imo she's a much over rated fashion caricature in urgent need for a new wardrobe and a fresh hair trick
