well,it was inspired by an image of the Duke of Windsor meeting with Mlle Coco. So,historically, there is something very English and something a bit French in elegance as well....all twisted into a quirky Belgian interpretation.

you're welcome :flower:

one question : I knew of meetings btw gabrielle and duke of Westminster... but Duke of Windsor... i think i have to reread Edmonde Charles-Roux...

thanx for the infos (that was written in the 1st post...)

oh googled and found that :
The book begins with a dinner party n Paris in the autumn of 1970. The Duke and Duchess of Windsor arrive and Chanel, wearing a white silk suit moves quickly toward the door.
"Reaching out to the Duke, she trained her dark eyes on him and welcomed him inside, excluding everyone else from her glance," Wallach writes. "Steering the former king past the Coromandel screens and into the drawing room she sat down beside him cozily on the cocoa-colored suede sofa. Their eyes now locked their voices low, the twosome chatted almost in murmurs, their monotone stopped only by an occasional spurt of laughter."
The party continues. The two seated side-by-side at table finally acknowledge the other guests at the urging of Chanel’s butler. Diana Vreeland at dinner that night said: "I have never seen such intensity in my life. Obviously they once had a great romantic hour together."
Chanel was 85.

thanx scott...
it's not the first one that presented mormonfarmers for this season... mormon being trendy? a come-back to oldtime? political?

I think it's more Amish than Mormon. It speaks to a reserved but controlled way of dressing. The Amish live on communes, their clothing reflects the strict protestant essentials of plain and modest living. Perhaps that says something about the way people want to live their own lives today?

^Amish, right... sorry i'm always confused with both of them...

Yeah, it's convenient living in Ohio where we have large Amish population. It's easy to keep track of your obscure christian sects when you run into them once in awhile.

Some of the outerwear is really nice, and surprisingly, I'm liking the second gold outfit.

This is beautiful
I saw bits of it last night but it only looks better at its entirety.. I love that he didnt lose the exact same approach of his womenswear line.. just beautifully structured clothes that, as cheesy as it sounds, never leave you cold or perplexed.. quite accessible but still very demanding at the same time.
if that makes sense of course.

Stunning, can't wait to see it in the shops. A welcome breath of fresh air in the Belgian Open :D

Do we know what exactly he is doing for Delvaux, the Belgian leather manufacturer? He's supposed to be doing the design for a new men's line for them?

I cannot see his influences in the clothes at all. The clothes are so interesting that he really doesn't need show notes. It's going to be beg borrow or steal time when this stuff hits the racks.

thanks scott!, his website has been crashing my computer in the last few days for some weird reason, let's hope it works now. :argg:
