I'm surprised there isn't a thread on them already. They are a hip hop band hailing from South Africa and their singer, Yolandi Visser happens to be one of my personal style icons.

they have really been blowing up lately. They are the new stars of the T by Alexander Wang Spring campaign! They were also front row at his show.

I can't decide what to think of this band. Some elements of cultural appropriation are disturbing to me: they border on racist imo (minstrelsy!? Come on!). But I like some of their music. I am just not sure their use of "irony" always translates to the broader public, which means things can be taken too literally. She does have cool hair.

Is this a case of style over substance? Or not? I am still on the fence...
