Diesel Resort 2024 Milan

I can't wait for this y2k thing to finally end. It's so forced and unauthentic, just like the SM crowd who eats it up.
I find it quite interesting because Diesel never ever looked like that. The Diesel look of the early 00’s was more in tune with the Dolce & Gabbana and Dsquared aesthetic at the time.
The allure was more glamour than Streetwear…

It's more of the same. Way more diluted when you look at the textile/denim manipulations compared to the RTW collections as well so there isn't much impact to warrant this many looks. The "men's" reads as very Demna/Vetements and Phillip Plein, and a lot also looks a bit like Matthew Williams' Alyx.

It is odd that it reads as very Y2K from a now perspective, but it really isn't very Y2K at all at the same time (similar vein as Blumarine). To me this looks more like old Dreamcast and PS1 game covers.

I like a lot and it's very current but at the same time avant-garde. better than their last runway show for sure

The collection is good enough for a pre-collection. The menswear is Diet-Demna, but the womenswear saves it tremendously (to the point that I'm surprised that Demna hadn't gone down this route with his women's collections).
Glenn does way more interesting stuff at Y/Project. Working for a denim/streetwear brand doesn't really do him and the scope of his skills justice like his Gaultier collection did...

it's fresh. love the color combinations and also the rawness of the ripped fabrics.

...not so much the hypebeat-oversizing of the menswear. so overdone and desperate.

Very in the moment. tres au courant.

I love it.

this would look hot on my husband when we unironically go to da raves once a year to prove we still got it.
