A lotion is more fluid whilst a cream is more compact, most of the time better for a drier/ more mature skin.

yeah, like e45 you can get cream or the lotion, the cream is usually the more concentrated out of the two formulas,more solid than liquid. I have very dry skin so always go for creams.

a lotion is any topical solution whereas a cream is semisolid emulsion.... so creams are considered lotions. well that's the pharmaceutical explanation anyway...
