While us TFS members may not like how this campaign turned out, or doubt whether Kaws is still relevant, I can see this campaign go down a treat with the Asian market. If the style of clothes worn by the cast of the wildly successful reboot of 'Meteor Garden' is anything to go by, as well as how male celebrities/stars in Asia are being currently styled, Dior is landing itself straight in the middle of what's hot right now over there. What's more, Kaws is definitely still a thing in Asia; you could almost argue that kaws is still very much at the beginning of its popularity in Asia. For example, in Malaysia and Singapore the Uniqlo kaws collab was so popular that they're releasing vol. 2 later this month, there's currently special kaws exhibitions happening in Hong Kong and Japan.
We all know how important it is for luxury brands to capture the interest of the Asian market, and I think Dior has done well in that aspect. This campaign borders on boring, but it simply shows off on-trend clothes right now, and features kaws' BFF that is currently hip to say you're a fan of.
