Dkny F/w 06.07 Nyc

Mmm, seems that black/yellow combination is catching on. Patrik Rzepski used the combo almost exclusively.

I just looked at style.com before this and looked at this collection....i think its great! Love the layers, love the opaque tights, and love the youthfulness of it! I tend to not like that much black though...thats my only complaint!

Just one of the 80s influences I'm seeing ...

I'm not sure I'm ready for the 80s again :p

i'm definitely surprised. i don't usually like dkny but this was nice.

and did anyone else think of the project runway dress when they saw this? :flower:

i like the last bunch of pics posted and some of the 'rushed' neck detail dresses..
i seem to be missing the 80s connection, its a bit too romantic for 80s
quite a mixed collection, bit of romance, bit of empire, bit of minimalist and some horrid japanese inspired prints..
but the colour palette/mix is fine

^Yes, the prints were a bit dodgy.

I dunno....this is just 'fine' for me...nothing I dislike or like - I do like the splashes of neon colour - I think they may the subdued purples and blacks really zing.

I really like this collection - its cute and wearable

The men's collection was very hit or miss - nice jackets ruined by denim underneath and leather over suits.. bleh. I like some of their striped pieces though and might pick up one of the shirts if it is reasonably priced.

Overall there's nothing exciting here for men but I like alot of the early women's shots.

I am quite surprised.... DKNY is usually very terrible.... this is WAY better than usual..... the colors are very pretty and the cuts look great... !

I'm also a fan of the clever and subtle use of flourescent yellow to inject more vibrancy and energy into the outfits. However, a lot of outfits reminded me very much of Burberry Prorsum FW05:

But nonetheless, overall I still like this show ..... but that's probably partially because I liked the Burberry show a lot:innocent:

i think this is close to perfection......

donna is BACK!!!...

U're not the only one. I think it's a bit Burberr-ish. I also did give a thought tht I've clicked into the wrong thread of another designer.

good point Hye Park this seems absolutely influenced by burberry :)

(same as the Marc Jacobs fw06.07 collection)

One of my favorite fw shows so far, it's really lovley and wearable but at the same time not too boring IMO. And even though there deinitely are similarities betweeen this and Burberry fw05, I like the colors in this show better.

you guys are funny-
and i could pull out some old marc jacobs adn show you where the burberry came from...

or better yet-let's go back to biba...

it all goes round, doesn't it??...

;)

The designs were wearable and maybe a little too baggy. Meh.

But so, so happy there were splashes of color like yellow and that electric blue. Yes! WInter doesn't have to mean 24/7 drabness.
