Do pointy toe pumps have to hurt?

I own a pair of Jimmy Choos that are pointy with about a 2 inch heel and they are pretty comfortable, unless of course I walk for a long period of time. I guess it just depends on the make of the shoe.

I think it depends on

1. how long the point is- if it's longer it doesn't pinch as much, but long points look stupicd to me

2 if the point is centered or offset - if it's off to the side where your big toe is, it follows the shape of your foot more

I was about to say this as well.

I have a pointy pair of slingbacks and a pair of boots. The boots are so much more comfortable. They just give you much better overall support. I can wear the slingbacks...for a while, but they aren't the greatest quality. I feel like the slingback part hurts more than the toe. Maybe this is the worst kind of all. It just squeezes your foot into the point.

I like pointy toes, but found you definately need to shop around. Different styles, heel hights & manufacturers make a difference. If you find the right pair, they are totally comfortable.
