The grey ones are nice too.
There's more than a label's difference betwen these shoes and cons etc. I don't quite understand that thinking any more than I would as it applies to any other item of "designer" clothing. My theme recently - details. That's what it's about (that and the fact they're made in Japan and not a korean sweatshop - the latter does of course tend to keep prices down). I accept that they don't look so dramatically different from the types of shoe mentioned, but they do look different. I don't think the idea is in fact to make them look dramatically different. There's something unbearably naff about deigners making "lux" versions of classic trainers. Some of the Yohji adidas (I'm not talking abot Y3 which is a whole different story, and not in a good way) were naff in that resepct, as are all John Varvatos Cons. So the difference is not great, nor should it be, but it is there, and the only question is, is that difference worth, in your view, paying a significantly higher amount?
Either you want to you or you don't but it's an essentially subjective decision. To put all of this another way, either you get it or you don't.
