i think they've tried to create an 'IT' bag several times...but never came up with anything strong enough....

that would definitely boost sales...but they also don't have a strong logo...that medusa head can be a bit off-putting...and 'garish'...imo...
I think they have a new line out in Italy, I could be very wrong... they tried the gothic logo but that was 'too late, too bad'. Armani has new logo as well and I must say that his accessories looked very nice this season.

yes its funny how the handbag thing didn't work out for Versace. You would have thought it would be a perfect little earner.....

the medusa is truly awful. maybe gothica would be better - elegant gothic lolita - that might work in the context of versace....

do you think that colour is integral to versace though? I think it is - acid colours are what versace is all about. Could you really do an all black collection? mmmm - its back to the old question of how does a new designer revive an ailing house? start afresh altogether or try to move forward using the archives are precedents....as you may know, I am not a fan of all the revivalism going on all the time. I just find it too manipulative. any thoughts?

i think colour is great if it's used well and has always been a big part of versace...but so has black...

eline...hi there!...thanks for the photos...would you please post what season they are from...thanks!:flower:

Yes, Versace accessories need a major overhaul. The bags are seriously lacking as far as "it" bags go and the shoes haven't been good as of late. They need to take into account that most labels that create each seasons it bags use very luxe materials and skins. I think the best move for Versace would be to totally avoid a logo. Their signature should be a specific shape that's updated every season along with introducing new bags for the season. Versace has so much potential, nobody's using it to it's full capabilities and that's what's so sad about it.

I think the Versace gothic logo rocked, actually. I wanted a belt with the gothic VG buckle (the buckle to be worn on a hip). I had a personality split. One part wanted the belt, and another part was saying, "WTF? Is that you?"

They just need to hire a talented designer, that's all. They have the PR. Or they could go with a celebrity like Tom Ford, but that would require major ego and financial sacrifices.

To be honest, I liked the gothic V as well, there was a cashmere/wool ski hat that had it embroidered on it that I liked. But I would never want to see a bag with that scrawled all over it.

what gothic V?...can you post an example?...
thx...

The one in the background, disregard all the bling around it.
